A guide to practical therapy training for the Transpersonal Therapist
Transpersonal Therapy Training: Practical Insights for the Transpersonal Therapist
If you take all of the tools you have ever been taught, and all of the material on this site and apply it first to yourself, then, in your own self revelation, you may become a therapist to yourself.
This you can then share with others - by showing them from your own experience, where to place their feet on the sometimes obscure pathway.
patterns of life
The Patterns of Life repeat themselves, seemingly mindlessly - but with purpose ... our own internal reminder, the promptings of our "inner guru". Unless we become mindful, the patterns will go on repeating like a wheel.
Within the realm of Transpersonal Therapy, as I have experienced it and, as I apply it, I see myself as someone who draws maps which others can choose to follow or not. On the map, I place descriptions and markers of places I have been.
But they are not secret places, they are places where others have been, which others have written about, but which have had to (in the past) be spoken of in metaphor in order to protect the writer.
Language of transpersonal therapy
The descriptions and markers that I write are in plain English, because I have confronted these genetic fears within my body .. the "dragons" ... those shadows of ancestors whose fears not spoken, repressed, and denied under layers of codes of secrecy and silence resulted in the unconscious memories which used to run me. Any Transpersonal Therapist must learn to do the same.
Hence the definition that I use for "Enlightenment" is the bringing to the light of daily consciousness all of those "things" which are down in the subconscious of the unconscious of the physical body, running us, without us even being aware of their existence.
Quite often the road maps and markers that I write about can remind the reader of some place they have been before, or some other experience that may be stored within the genetic map of their own DNA remembering.
This will then trigger all of the emotions stored under the "keywords" I use.
the role of transpersonal therapy
If I fulfil any role for people within my group, for people on the discussion list, or for those who come to me for training, it should not be seen as teacher, or guru or therapist. I cannot be anybody's true guru, I cannot teach you anything, I cannot "therapeutise" you.
What I can do is remind you of your own "inner knowing", your "intuition" ... and in doing so I will also remind you of all of the times that this has been made wrong, that you have been castigated in some way for speaking the truth of yourself as you did as an innocent child but were forced to 'shutdown' your truth in order to protect yourself from the reactions of those around you and to survive ... and the source of that memory lies very deep.
Facing The Challenge The awareness that is growing within each of us is not as the result of any conscious doing .. it is part of our inherent remembering.
the inner guru
You do not need to struggle to make something happen. Deep in your centre, you also unconsciously re-member that you are an innocent, internally eternally silent, aware and unchanging.
The Patterns of Life repeat themselves, seemingly mindlessly - but with purpose ... our own internal reminder, the promptings of our "inner guru"... unless we become mindful, the patterns will go on repeating like a wheel.
Once you see the pattern, you can get out of it ... that's all you have to do.
It is often been said that the only unchanging thing in the world is change itself. Life is continually changing, evolving, dying and being being reborn. All opposites play a part in the vast circular pattern ... if you cling to the wheel you can get dizzy!
If you move towards the centre of the cyclone and relax into the stillness, you can know that this too will pass.
As we are faced with very difficult situations, we have a choice: we can either react and be resentful and try to find somebody or something to blame for our perceived "hardships", or we canlook at the situation as a reflection and from it, accept the path to our re-volution.
liberation
True liberation comes from allowing movement in all directions at the same time ...
As far as you would go forward .. you must go back ... As far as you would climb you must allow the descent ... and, eventually, you will complete the circle ... left - right ... up - down ...forward - back .. end merging with beginning ...
Then, and then only, will you become the freedom of amorphous consciousness, whole and complete ...the embodiment of your birthright.
If you have found your truth within yourself, there is nothing more in this whole existence to find.
Truth is functioning through you. Then you live life as truth - alive, radiant, contented, bliss-ful,a song unto yourself.
There are times in our lives when seemingly too many voices are pulling us this way and that. At such times we should remember that these are all voices of the ancestors, our genetic archetypes, reacting to each other through their our own individually programmed interpretations.
Yet underneath this chatter, each ancestral archetype has the remembering of the silence, their centre, their truth.
Techniques, expertise and knowledge are just tools.
The key is to abandoned one's self to the energy that fuels the birth of all things. This energy has no form or structure, yet all forms and structures come out of it. Some call this energy Kundalini (amongst other things).
It is for this reason that I suggest practicing for the practice, not for the purpose. To practice with purpose will limit the possibilities that you might give birth to.
The important thing is to be open to what wants to be expressed through your being
