a discussion of the implications of the transliminal meanings of words and language as applied to transpersonal psychology

words, language and semantics -- the transliminal importance of meaning

The English Language is now about as pure as a crib house whore. These journals contain words whose etymology is founded from Latin, French and Germanic roots along with any other words that the English has obtained by pursuing other cultures and creeds (including Eastern Spirituality) down dark alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary ... most often to be used for the purpose of emotional blackmail or manipulation.

the word is transliminal

Even over time, the meaning of many words has changed from their roots so, for the purpose of this site, all word definitions, origins and spelling are sourced from the Concise Oxford Dictionary of the English Language .. not from someone's idea of what someone else might think they mean

A word -- in fact, every sound -- has a visual shape, a colour, a texture, a sound, a phonetic resonance with the cells and organs of the body, a taste, and a smell.

A word invokes (and causes response from) all of the senses of the body -- not just what the intellect thinks (or has learned) is the implication or meaning.

What the disembodied mind may "think" is the "meaning" of a word can be very different from one's personal meaning and its implications within the transpersonal process as resonance uncovers past meanings and resonance encoded in the cells of the body causing the mind to construct all sorts of images in the present .. and for you to experience the emotions to go along with them.

a plain man's
Transpersonal Notebooks

Transpersonal is about the Consciousness (which some call Spirituality) which lies beyond what some call the personality.

It is about becoming aware of the seen and the unseen, the conscious, unconscious subconscious and supraconscious memories we carry which are the sources of programs, patterns and beliefs that govern our lives and our thinking - and then moving beyond.
